Administrative structure — 4 governorates

Bahrain is divided into four governorates: Capital, Muharraq, Northern and Southern. EQUORS uses them to organise applicant location data.

Sijilat is Bahrain’s electronic commercial registration and licensing platform, connected with relevant government licensing systems.

SMEs Registration System — Ministry of Industry and Commerce

The Ministry maintains Bahrain’s SME classification service. In 2026 it announced an update to classification criteria under Resolution No. (23) of 2026, so EQUORS does not present its application size choices as the official classification.
